Wow that video is such a reality check as to how much technology has taken over our lives.
ReplyDeleteI even find with myself that I would rather txt msg or email than actually pick up the phone and call someone...talking directly to someone that isn't in my day-to-day life has become so uncomfortable! So scary that we've evolved into relying on technology as means of communication this quickly.
I read an article a few years ago that said in the future human beings will evolve from all the technology and have a sort of micro chip in our brains that will allow us to speak telepathically and our voice boxes won't even work anymore. Scary Scary Scary!

I always here someone breaking up over a text message, no one has the actual guts to look someone in the eye and tell someone else they do not love them anymore. It is really scary if you think the love of your life is who you are with, and to your surprise get a text message saying its over. People need to grow up and face reality for once in their lives.
ReplyDeleteI`m not saying that technology is bad and terrible or anything. It`s obviously amazing what our world has come to technology wise! I`m saying that we need to know its limits and rely on ourselves once in a while and show that we still have some dignity left in us!....dont we...

I find it fascinating that this discussion about technology is taking place...on the Internet...
ReplyDeleteThe Doctor
Haha, I totally agree with the comment above. It is funny how this discussion about tech. is over the internet-how ironic. I mean it's interesting to take a look at how fast technology can consume a person. Even facebook for example, come on pick up the phone already stop writing on peoples walls. It sounds easier said than done :) It is almost sad to think how much we rely on technology. Just imagine in the next few years... what will technology bring next ?!
ReplyDeleteI can understand that using facebook and writing on peoples walls is 'lazy' but the whole point of facebook is to connect with people you can't call up and talk to daily...the issue is not technology, it's the lazy generation of people that use technology.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that people would rather use technology to talk to people (ex. text messaging) rather than talk in person or on the phone...we cannot sit here and 'attack' technology and blame it for the issues we face today..people just take technology for granted.
The text at the end of the video makes sense and I can agree with it; however, the only reason this couple was divorcing online/discussing it, was because they were lazy to start with. If you have your entire relationship done via technology, of course you're going to end up divorcing and of course you're going to talk about it online...what else would you do?
We can't just blame technology, it's us that is the problem. Technology does not force itself into our hands, we pick it up and use it, then later use 'technology is taking over' as our scape-goat to the entire issue.
